Scholarships

Are you an Edmonton Catholic teacher and have a child entering their first year of post-secondary studies in September 2026? If yes, your child could be eligible to receive up to a $1,000 scholarship that we offer to outstanding students.

  • The Archbishop Joseph MacNeil Scholarship for outstanding Christian service
  • The Bernie Lemay Scholarship for studies in computer science, digital arts, or multimedia technology and design
  • The Bishop Greschuk Scholarship for those registered in a recognized Faculty of Education
  • The Donna Swiniarski Scholarship for studies in communications, marketing, or English
  • The MacNeil/Quinlan Scholarship for student involvement, leadership, and citizenship

These scholarships, valued at up to $1000 per applicant, are awarded annually to children or dependents of active or retired Edmonton Catholic School Division teachers.  The actual amounts will vary yearly and be based on the number of successful applicants.

Only completed applications will be considered.

The DEADLINE for all scholarship applications is September 30, 2026.  Late applications will not be accepted.  We will consider the application as it applies to all available scholarships. We award individual scholarships based on the strengths of those who apply; while all funds will be given out, we won’t necessarily present all of the available scholarships.
We will tell all applicants about the status of their application within a week of the annual Scholarship Committee meeting. If your child is chosen for a scholarship, we’ll invite them to attend a local meeting before the Christmas break and receive their cheque at that time.
