Your voice. Your leadership. Your Local.
The President serves as the chief executive officer of the Local, providing leadership and overseeing its overall operations. Acting as the official spokesperson for the membership, the President represents the Local as required and facilitates meetings of the General Assembly, Council of School Representatives, and Executive, or designates a Vice-President to do so. The President is a signing officer of the Local and chairs the ARA Committee and the Summer Conference Delegation Selection Committees.
The Past President ensures strong and stable leadership continuity by stepping into the President’s role when required and providing experienced guidance during transitions. They represent the Local as delegated, supporting advocacy and member engagement. The Past President provides oversight for elections, the constitution, and administrative guidelines to uphold transparency, accountability, and effective operations.
The Vice-Presidents support the leadership of the Local and assume the duties of the President when designated by the Executive. They facilitate meetings and represent the Local as delegated by the President. Each Vice-President chairs key committees, with one overseeing Finance and Scholarships, and the other leading Member Services and related committees. Both Vice-Presidents also attend employee relations meetings on behalf of the Local.
