ATA Specialist Council Conference Grant

This grant will pay for a substitute teacher for 1 (one) full day to attend an ATA Specialist Council conference.

It must be a provincial Specialist Council conference and does not cover any other costs.  Please check the provincial ATA website for the complete listing of Specialist Council conferences.

We pay the cost of a full-day substitute teacher so you can attend an ATA Specialist Council Conference.

Please note that you still need to let your principal know that you have received this grant and that you plan to attend a particular ATA Specialist Council Conference. It’s your responsibility to arrange for a substitute teacher.
If you are not going to use the grant, please let us know as soon as possible. That way, another teacher may use the substitute teacher full day grant to attend a Specialist Council conference.

Specialist Council Opportunities

The ATA’s specialist councils have begun planning collaboration opportunities for teachers across the province. These conferences provide meaningful, relevant, subject-specific professional development for Alberta. Additionally, some councils continue to plan digital conferences and experiences for teachers.

For more information on future events and professional development opportunities provided by the specialist councils, please visit their respective websites.
