DESCRIPTION:Education Week was established by teachers in 1928 to highlight the importance of public education and its vital role in Alberta’s development. In 2026\, Education Week takes place from Monday\, April 13 to Friday\, April 17. \nThe theme this year\, Public Education is Every Child\, Every Classroom\, Every Day\, reflects the shared commitment that exists across school divisions to ensure inclusive\, vibrant and responsive learning environments for all students. It recognizes the powerful role teachers play in sparking curiosity\, encouraging creativity\, and guiding students as they discover their potential. \nEducation is more than lessons and assignments\, it is the foundation for strong communities and a brighter future. Each moment of learning helps shape not only individual lives\, but the world we all share. \nECTL 54 Education Week Giveaway\n \nTo celebrate Education Week\, the Edmonton Catholic Teachers Local will be giving back to its members through a special giveaway. Each day during Education Week\, five gift cards will be awarded to ECSD teachers in recognition of their dedication and the important role they play in supporting students and empowering future generations. \nAll ECSD teachers are invited to participate by registering their personal email address with the Local. If you have previously provided your personal email to ECTL during the 2025-2026 school year (and this includes during the strike)\, you have already been automatically entered into the draw. You will be receiving an email from our office to confirm your entry. Please do not re-submit an email address\, only one address per teacher will be used.
