DESCRIPTION:This session supports teachers in building confidence and skill when facilitating discussions around controversial or sensitive topics.\n\n\nUsing research-backed strategies\, participants will explore pedagogical approaches that promote active listening\, respectful dialogue\, and perspective-taking—without advancing a particular viewpoint.\n\n\nThrough hands-on activities\, guided discussion\, and time for questions\, educators will examine how to plan responsibly\, select appropriate resources\, and clearly demonstrate professional neutrality.\n\n\nThe focus is on practical strategies and pedagogy\, not on unpacking specific issues\, with space to address teacher concerns and classroom realities.\n\n\nAppetizers and refreshments will begin at 4:00pm. The session will run from 4:30 pm to 6:00pm. Hope to see you there!
