Responsibilities
If you’re a substitute, we’re your connection with the local and its leadership. We can help you access services, events, and professional development opportunities. Our committee meets every few months throughout the school year to ensure you’re getting the information you need. You likely don’t work at a fixed school site, so we send out regular emails to provide updates that you might not get otherwise. That way you can stay on top of everything happening at the local.
During the bargaining cycle, we’ll pass along important updates and share any concerns you might have with the local’s Council and Executive.

We’re a support group made up of substitute teachers advocating for other substitutes. We know that a teacher is a teacher, whether you have a classroom or not. Substitute teachers have high professional standards and the right to make judgement calls, just like classroom teachers do. It’s our job to inform colleagues, students, and parents of that fact. This is the foundation that all of our actions are built on.
