Local Political Engagement Committee

Responsibilities

We work throughout the school year to collect impartial information about government, trustee, and ATA elections, then share that information at Council meetings, through the Intercom, and on social media. Meetings depend on the election cycle and other outside events.

We attend meetings of the Edmonton Catholic School Board and share what we learn with the Council. When the ATA identifies specific issues that matter to teachers, we work with ATA members and government representatives to address those issues. We also plan events with political representatives, like school board trustee forums and MLA engagement nights.

Partners

We partner with external groups that help improve the lives of teachers and students.
