Teachers: Stuff You Should Know! (September 2021)

Staffing Changes

  • Our new administrative assistant, Chawnsa Dutertre, has joined our team. She started September 1st and is getting to know the Local and the work we do. You’ll hear her friendly voice when you call the office. Welcome, Chawnsa!
  • Kathy MacIsaac is still retiring (mostly) and Suzanne Rosko is still retiring (completely). The ad for the Executive Officer position has closed and our external consultant is reviewing the applications. The process is under way!

Scholarships & Bargaining

  • If you have a child graduating from high school and entering their first year of post-secondary, they are eligible to apply for a scholarship sponsored by the teachers of Local 54. Get more information and the application form here.
  • Provincial Bargaining is under way! Please check your account on the provincial website and make sure your account is current. If you have any issues (e.g., you need your teaching certificate number), call the office at 780-451-1196 or email Chawnsa. Be sure to create your account with your personal email address.
