The ATA Educational Trust is a registered charitable organization closely affiliated with the Alberta Teachers’ Association. Each year, the Trust offers bursaries and grants to Alberta teachers and educational researchers. Through its bursary program, the Trust encourages teachers to advance their knowledge and teaching skills by enrolling in courses of study. The Trust’s grant programs encourage teachers to attend professional development activities and events.
The Trust has four ongoing programs. Each bursary or grant has its own awards and eligibility criteria. Deadlines to apply vary by bursary/grant.
- Dr. B T Keeler Continuing Education Bursary-$700- Deadline to apply is May 1st annually.
- belairdirect Insurance Centennial Fund for Teacher Development-$600- Deadline to apply is August 28, 2026.
- Orest and Francina Lazarowich Bursary in CTS Technology Education- Up to $2,000- Deadlines are as follows: December 15 (fall term enrolment only), April 30 (winter term enrolment) and June 15 (spring or summer enrolment)
- ATA Specialist Council Conference Grants- $500- Deadline to apply is August 28, 2026
