President’s Message – February 2025

Finally, January is over! It was a long haul, but we made it! Now, we welcome February, the month of love and kindness, along with a couple of long weekends to look forward to.

Being an educator takes immense effort and resilience. Your ability to persevere in the face of increasing challenges is truly remarkable. This month, make sure to take some time to show yourself some love and kindness. Let go of that imperfect lesson, the simplified lesson, or the bulletin board you haven’t had a chance to update. Remember, you are doing great work and are a blessing to your students.

With Faith Day and the Teachers’ Convention ahead, I hope you find inspiration, time to refresh, and opportunities to connect with fellow educators. You deserve it!

Also, with Budget Day happening on February 27th, we wait with anticipation and a little bit of hope that education will receive the funding it needs to thrive. To ensure that the government hears us, please join the rally at the Legislature on February 27th from 3:30 – 5:00 pm to defend and demand what our schools deserve. Get your signs ready, be loud, and let’s stand together to fight for the future of education.

“You have the most important job of anyone today. Our kids need you to advocate for their futures.” ~George Lucas

Wishing you a wonderful February filled with love, kindness, and rejuvenation.

 With heartfelt appreciation,

 Amber Nicholson
