The Edmonton Catholic Teachers’ Local 54 is set to have an election for Table Officers in March 2024. The President and the Vice-President are instrumental in the leadership of the Edmonton Catholic Teachers’ Local 54 for a two year period commencing July 1, 2024.

Election 2024 Timeline
| February 1, 2024 | Nomination forms available from Local Office. Link will posted on this webpage. |
| February 15, 2024 | Signed and completed nomination forms are due to Local Office by 4:00pm. |
| February 20, 2024 | Candidates to give speeches at Council of School Representative Meeting. |
| March 5, 2024 | Election ballots are sent to schools this week. |
| March 13, 2024 | Completed ballots are due and must be submitted to the Local Office by 5:00pm. Results will be published on the ECT Local Website. |
DUTIES OF PRESIDENT (section 13.1 Local Constitution)
It shall be the duty of the President to:
- Serve as chief executive officer of the local;
- Provide leadership to the local;
- Act as official spokesperson for the local and its membership or designate another table officer to do so;
- Oversee the business of the local;
- Preside, or to designate one of the vice-presidents to preside at all meetings of general assembly, Council of School Representatives and executive;
- Ensure representation of the local as required;
- Be a signing officer of the local; and
- Be the chair of the ARA Committee.
DUTIES OF VICE- PRESIDENT (section 13.2 Local Constitution)
- In the absence of the President, it shall be the duty of the Vice-President designated by the Executive to assume the responsibilities of the President.
- It shall be the duty of the Vice-Presidents to preside at meetings and represent the Local as delegated by the President.
- One of the Vice-Presidents shall be appointed as the chair of the Finance Committee.
