Edmonton Catholic Local 54 teachers to rally at legislature
Teachers from the Edmonton Catholic Local 54 will join their colleagues from across the province on Saturday, October 22, 2022, for a Provincial Teachers’ Rally at the Alberta legislature.
This rally gives Edmonton Catholic Local 54 teachers a historic opportunity to publicly demonstrate their confidence in their profession and in public education. It allows them the opportunity to show strong solidarity with their provincial counterparts, to express concern with the state of public education and to show pride in being a teacher and hope in a future public education system that works for all students. It will give them an opportunity to make sure Albertans know it’s time to “Stand for Public Education.”
“This rally belongs to all teachers. The gathering of teachers from across the province in one spot is a symbol of our commitment to our profession.
“The success of creating this dynamic event lies in the hands and the heart of each teacher. This is a teachers’ rally, by teachers and for teachers”
Jason Schilling, ATA president
