The Alberta Teachers’ Association’s Central Table Bargaining Committee (CTBC) has received a mediator’s report with recommendations for concluding central table bargaining with the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) representing school boards and the Government of Alberta.
For further information about the mediator’s report and the process ahead for ratification, teachers are strongly encouraged to read the latest Bargainers’ Blog post (www.teachers.ab.ca).
Teachers are encouraged to visit the Bargaining 2018 web page (www.teachers.ab.ca) to learn more about the mediator’s report.
There will be three (3) Member Information Meetings (MIMs) in Edmonton and others elsewhere in the province between March 19, 2019 and April 2, 2019. Teachers should attend whichever meeting is most convenient to hear about the report, ask questions about the content and implications, and discuss and debate the recommendations.
The Edmonton meetings are:
March 19, 2019, 7:00 PM – Doubletree by Hilton, 16615 109 Avenue NW, Edmonton
March 20, 2019, 7:00 PM – Coast Nisku Inn & Conference Centre, 1101 4 Street, Nisku
April 1, 2019, 7:00 PM – Festival Place Theatre, 100 Festival Way, Sherwood Park
Check the ATA website (www.teachers.ab.ca) to confirm meeting times and the location of the April 1stmeeting.
In order to reach a settlement, the mediator’s recommendations would need to be ratified by a vote of teachers and by the school board representatives that make up the TEBA representative committee.
